Faith, Challenges, and Perseverance – A Day of Commitment: 11th March, 2025
The day began with a soulful group prayer song led by Mensah. It’s my favorite one, even though I don’t understand the language. There’s something about the melody, the rhythm, and the way everyone joins in—it fills the air with an energy that words can’t describe. I recorded a video of it, hoping to capture that moment of unity and devotion.
After the prayer, I shared a few thoughts: "God is Great. In God We Trust." These words are written everywhere—in India, in Togo—on shop signboards, vehicles, and walls. They serve as constant reminders. But in the struggles of life, we often forget. There are moments when we feel helpless, overwhelmed. Yet, when we truly believe that God is with us, that faith itself becomes our strength. It fuels us, pushes us to put in more effort. That’s how we move forward. That’s how we win.
HOD Standing Meeting: The Final Countdown for Kiln#2 Light-Up
The focus of our morning meeting was the final preparations for lighting up Kiln#2. Everyone was involved, making sure no detail was overlooked. The anticipation was building up—by evening, the plant would see flames once again.
A Frustrating Experience with Manipal University Jaipur
I had a terrible experience with Manipal University Jaipur today. As a working professional, I chose an online program because I need flexibility. But what’s the use if I can’t even access the student portal? Every time I try, there’s a new technical glitch. The helpdesk is useless—like talking to a robot, repeating scripted responses that don’t solve anything. Even their so-called relationship manager is of no help. A completely failed experience.
The Importance of Plant Visits
One thing I never compromise on is visiting the plant regularly. There is no better way to understand the real challenges. A plant visit shows you the gaps in workmanship, the areas needing improvement. It also reveals where shortcuts are being taken. Some might seem harmless at first, but others can be disastrous. Experience helps us recognize these red flags before they turn into major breakdowns.
A plant visit also refreshes our knowledge, sharpens our skills, and, most importantly, strengthens our bond with both our men and machines. That’s how we build a strong, resilient operation.
A Facebook Memory That Took Me Back
Facebook notifications can be nostalgic. Today, it reminded me of 11th March 2018—seven years ago, when we were bidding farewell to our outgoing Plant Head. I had already taken charge by then. The group photos popped up, and one thing stood out—while everyone else was in casuals, I was in my safety shoes, helmet, and laptop bag. It was a Sunday, but for me, Sunday has always been Day #1 of the week. Work never stops.
Kiln#2 Light-Up: Still at Work
It’s now 5:45 PM. The plant is still not lit up, but our team is working hard. We won’t leave until it’s done. The commitment, the dedication—this is what makes us who we are. By the time we step out, Kiln#2 will be burning bright again.
