Morning Meeting: A Positive Start to the Day

🎶 A Beautiful Prayer Song
One of our young workmen started the meeting with a prayer song, setting a calm and uplifting tone for the day. It was a reminder that work isn’t just about machines and deadlines—it’s about people, emotions, and collective energy. A good beginning can shape the entire day's productivity.

Improved Attendance, But a Pattern Noticed
The strength in today’s meeting was good, but many joined only during the prayer. This shows that people are willing to participate but haven’t yet built the discipline of punctuality. I reminded them that the morning meeting is not just a formality—it’s where we set our intentions and energy for the day. I requested everyone to be present before the siren blows.

🔔 Why Morning Meetings Matter
A well-structured morning meeting creates a shared vision. It ensures that everyone understands the priorities, safety aspects, and expectations for the day. Over time, these meetings can build a culture of discipline, motivation, and teamwork.

🦺 Safety First: The Right Way to Wear a Helmet
The Safety Officer demonstrated the proper way to wear a helmet. A small mistake—such as a loose strap or incorrect positioning—can mean the difference between life and death in hazardous working conditions. Safety is not just a rule; it’s a responsibility.

💪 Lifting Heavy Objects: Technique Matters
Mr. Chapo, our Medical Assistant, spoke about the importance of lifting heavy objects the right way. Many workplace injuries occur due to improper lifting postures, leading to long-term back problems.
Key takeaways from his session:

  • Always bend at the knees, not the waist.
  • Keep the object close to your body to reduce strain.
  • Use your legs, not your back for lifting.
  • If something is too heavy—ask for help.

Other Key Highlights of the Day

🎓 Attended My Online MBA Introductory Session
Education never stops. Today, I attended the online introduction of my MBA program. This is something I’ve been looking forward to, as structured learning can sharpen my understanding of management principles.

Insight: Many professionals stop learning once they settle into a job, but that’s where they get left behind. The world is moving fast—those who keep upgrading themselves stay ahead.

📝 DPM: The Power of Written Instructions
During the Daily Planning Meeting (DPM), we discussed an important realization:
Verbal instructions often get forgotten, misinterpreted, or ignored.

Solution: From now on, work instructions and routine tasks will be communicated through checklists.
A written checklist:

  • Ensures accountability
  • Acts as a reference if someone forgets
  • Eliminates confusion
  • Makes follow-ups easier

This simple practice can significantly improve work execution.

👷 New Addition to the Team: Welcome, Mr. Ghanshyam Salia
At 4 PM, Mr. Ghanshyam Salia arrived at WACEM to take over as Mechanical HOD.
I have worked with him in two different plants before, and I know his strengths, work ethic, and expertise. Having a trusted and experienced person in this key role will strengthen our team and accelerate the improvement process.

This also reinforces an important point: Relationships built over the years often come full circle.

Lesson of the Day: Finding the Right Fit – Safety Shoes & Life Choices

👞 The Safety Shoe Experience
Today, I tried both a size smaller and bigger—neither worked. A wrong size, even by one number, makes a big difference. It causes discomfort, impacts movement, and can even lead to injury.

💡 Insight:
This is true not just for shoes but for life. The right fit matters.

  • A job that fits your skills.
  • A role that fits your strengths.
  • A team that fits your vision.

If something doesn’t fit, it’s better to wait for the right one rather than adjusting to discomfort.

📌 Mine is size 42. What’s yours? 😃
