Independence, Responsibility & Continuous Learning: Plant Diary – February 26, 2025
Morning Moments – A Mini Farewell & a Fun Ride
☀️ Before heading to the plant, we met Mr. Devarajan, who was leaving for Mali.
🔧 He had come to help us with Grate Cooler overhauling.
👋 We bid him a mini-farewell—a small but heartfelt gesture.
🚌 Took the staff bus with my team-members—I enjoy doing such funny things.
✔️ Small actions break barriers and create a sense of camaraderie.
Morning Meeting – The Meaning of True Independence
🌍 India & Togo have something in common—both were once not independent.
🧐 But are we truly independent now?
🚨 No, we are still slaves—not to foreign rulers, but to our own weaknesses and bad habits.
🍺 Alcohol is one of them.
💡 True independence will come when we are free from such things.
✔️ The message was deep, but necessary.
✔️ Freedom is not just external—it’s an internal battle too.
HOD Standing Meeting – Leadership Rotation
👨🏭 Today, Mechanical HOD, Mr. Chandrashekhar Singh, led the meeting.
✔️ Encouraging different leaders helps build confidence and accountability.
Major Damage Due to Night-Shift Carelessness
⚠️ A critical part was damaged last night due to carelessness and poor coordination.
⚠️ A clear case of improper job allocation.
✔️ Solution:
✅ Night-shift teams must receive proper job instructions before starting.
✅ A caution letter will be issued to the responsible person.
🔎 Discipline and clarity in task allocation are non-negotiable.
DPM (Daily Production Meeting) Discussions
📌 Topics Discussed:
1️⃣ Night-shift damage issue—discussed corrective measures.
2️⃣ Advance/Loan Requests—temporary halt due to banking technicalities.
3️⃣ Face-Recognition System Implementation:
- There’s a mismatch in workers' incoming and outgoing records.
- Malpractices suspected—we must close this gap.
✔️ Technology should be leveraged to ensure discipline and transparency.
A Sudden Downpour & a Market Visit
🌧️ Heavy rain for 15 minutes during lunch—unexpected but refreshing.
🛍️ Visited the local market after lunch—between Tabligbo town and our plant.
🎨 A vibrant, colorful place, dominated by women—young girls to elderly ladies.
✔️ A surprise: Despite the storm near my residence, the market had little rain.
🤔 Didn’t buy anything, but absorbed the energy of the place.
Energy Project Discussion – Gas & Solar Power
🔋 An 11MW Gas Power Plant and a 4MW Solar Power Plant are in progress.
🏗️ A group from the executing company, gas supplier, and bankers visited us.
📌 A formal meeting, but an important step for our plant’s future energy needs.
✔️ A shift towards sustainable energy is happening.
AI & The Future – A Thought-Provoking Discussion with Kavya
The rise of AI is limitless, and every day, we see new advancements that change how we work and live.
Recently, I came across an AI-based app that suggests interior designs based on uploaded room photos. Amazing, isn’t it? It made me wonder—if AI is doing such things today, what should we do to stay relevant?
I had this discussion with Kavya, and we asked ourselves some important questions:
🤖 If AI is evolving so fast, what should we do?
📌 How do we plan for job safety and business growth in an AI-driven world?
A Lesson from 1993
This conversation took me back to 1993, when I convinced my father to let me take a DTP (Desktop Publishing) course. That small decision sparked my love for technology, and I’ve stayed ahead ever since.
Years later, in 2022, I was lucky enough to discover ChatGPT in its very first week of release. It was a reminder that early adoption of technology creates opportunities.
The Biggest Mistake? Stopping Learning!
What surprises me most is that many people stop learning once they get a job. They settle into routine work, ignoring new skills and advancements.
But here’s the truth:
✔️ The key to survival is continuous learning.
✔️ Technology will evolve—with or without us.
✔️ Our ability to adapt will decide our future.
So, the real question is: Are we ready to grow with AI, or will we resist change and be left behind?
Final Reflections
🔹 Leadership rotation is strengthening our team.
🔹 Night-shift carelessness must be addressed with proper training & job allocation.
🔹 Tech-driven discipline (face-recognition) is a must to curb malpractices.
🔹 Energy projects are crucial for long-term sustainability.
🔹 AI is shaping the future—those who don’t keep learning will be left behind.
🚀 Every day, a step forward.
