Time Management, Discipline & Delays | Plant Diary – February 24, 2025

Morning Meeting – The Power of Time Limits

This morning, I emphasized the importance of fixing a time limit for jobs.
🕒 If a task has no deadline, it will stretch indefinitely.
🕒 If you give three days to clean a room, it may never get done.
🕒 If you give three hours, it will surely be completed.

Outcome:
✔ Contractors joined the meeting today—a positive step. Others will follow soon.

HFO Spillage – Immediate Action Taken

⚠️ The issue of HFO-mixed water spilling was raised again.
⚠️ Despite repeated instructions, sludge is still being spilled while being pumped out.
⚠️ Immediate corrective action: Instructed Electrical department to disconnect the pump until a proper arrangement is made.

Structured Attendance Monitoring

To avoid time-consuming physical attendance tracking:
📌 I will personally monitor HOD presence.
📌 Mr. BVKR will handle contractors' attendance.
📌 HODs will manage their section in-charges.
📌 Section in-charges will ensure their team members' presence.

✔ This chain of accountability ensures everyone is taken care of efficiently.

Job Planning & Documentation Updates

📂 Improvements made in the SOP of JPR and technical sheet.
📂 Updated versions uploaded on Google Drive for easy access.

Project Job Delays – DPM Discussion

📌 Coal Mill Separator: Expected by March 2025
📌 Tyre Pyrolysis Project: Expected by April 2025
📌 Gas Power Plant: Scheduled for July 2025

✔ Discussed Grate Cooler activities with Mr. Devarajan.
✔ He assured that critical jobs will be completed before he leaves the plant.
✔ Planned for a joint inspection of the Cooler soon.

Farewell & Weather Update

Store Manager is going on a 40-day leave—wished him a pleasant journey.
Heavy rain on Saturday evening (7:30 PM – 9:30 PM) with 27-30 mm rainfall.
Cloudy weather continues, changing the atmosphere.

Final Thoughts

Time management is key—fixing deadlines ensures completion.
⚙️ Discipline and structure in attendance tracking will improve efficiency.
🛑 HFO spillage must be controlled—strict action taken.
🚧 Project delays must be closely monitored—action required.
🌧️ Weather changes affect operations—need to stay prepared.

Each day brings its own challenges and lessons—our commitment to improvement must not waver.
